Went to the zoo and they all asked for you...

Last Wednesday evening, we packed up the kids, the dogs, the car and headed south for Houston! We were so blessed that Patrick was able to come with us, so we decided to take JP and Addison to the Houston Zoo on Thursday. 

The last time we went to the zoo was two years ago over Spring Break, so I was excited to go back. JP packed his binoculars and we rented a stroller for him and off we went! 

If you live in Houston and haven't been to the zoo, you must go!

They've updated it with an African Safari part and they have so many animals and it's very interactive! We stopped at the lions and watched the trainer talk (where the trainers open a window into the lion exhibit and get them to respond to commands

and played "peek a boo" with meerkats in the meerkat exhibit. 

We took a picnic and sat out by the duck pond and ate lunch- it was just such a perfect day and we really had a blast!

Miss Addison even had fun!

Houston humidity is not good for this Southern girl's pouf! Can't believe I went flat :(
